Overdraft Protection

Overdrafts happen,
but you have options

To help you with unplanned or occasional overdrafts, we offer two overdraft programs that may cover certain transactions on your account when there are insufficient funds (fee may result).

Savings Overdraft Protection

How it works
Savings Overdraft Protection automatically transfers funds to your checking account from your linked Bank of the West savings account or money market account in increments of $50 to cover overdrafts.footnote1A Savings Overdraft Protection Transfer fee applies for each transfer. If the available balance in your savings is enough to cover at least one or more items plus the fee, we will transfer enough to cover as many items as possible and the fee up to the remaining balance in your savings or money market account (certain fees and restrictions may apply).

Covered transactions
Checks, recurring debit card transactions, ACH, and automatic electronic payments presented at the end of each banking day are covered. Your ATM withdrawals and everyday debit card purchases are not covered at the time of transaction.

Note: This option is limited to personal and sole proprietorship accounts.

Contact your local branch for more details.

Gold Line Accountfootnote2

How it worksfootnote3
The Gold Line account is a line of credit that automatically transfers funds to your linked Bank of the West checking account in increments of $50 to cover overdrafts. A Loan Transfer Fee applies for each transfer. If the available credit is not enough to cover at least one item plus the fee, the transfer will not occur. Total overdraft coverage is determined by your available credit limit, and credit is subject to approval (certain fees and restrictions may apply).

Covered transactions
Checks, ATM withdrawals, ACH and automatic electronic payments, everyday debit card purchases, and other checking account transactions are covered.
