Julie Shafer 

With over 20 years of experience in the world of philanthropy, Julie Shafer is skilled at helping ultra-high-net-worth families and individuals mobilize their resources to realize the change they envision.

Julie has worked with nonprofit organizations, foundations, corporations, and philanthropists nationally and globally. She has served as Director of Development at the Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases UCSF, and Executive Director of the Silver Giving Foundation. She also headed Julie Shafer Development & Philanthropy, specializing in thoughtful and effective strategic planning for donors and grantees.

Julie holds a BA from the University of California Davis and an MFCC from the University of San Francisco.

As Head of Strategic Philanthropy and Purpose Investments for Family Wealth Advisors, Julie is responsible for a specialized offering that integrates the local service excellence of Bank of the West with the global access of its parent company BNP Paribas.

She collaborates with clients to help them identify their unique philanthropic goals, and creates customized strategies and an array of opportunities to achieve them.
