Bank of the West Announces New Solutions for Small Business Clients

New Checking, Money Market and Savings Accounts and Cash Management and Fraud Protection Tools Make Banking Easier and More Convenient

Bank of the West announced today a number of new products and services for small business clients, including new checking accounts as well as enhanced fraud protection and cash management tools.  The products are designed for small businesses with annual sales of up to $10MM. 

"We know that fees, unnecessary trips to a branch and day-to-day cash management are some of the biggest pain points for small business owners.  As a result, we're pleased to announce new products that will help make banking easier and more convenient for our small business clients, and give them more ways to avoid fees," said Michelle Di Gangi, executive vice president for Small and Medium Enterprise Banking at Bank of the West.  "This is all part of a key ongoing focus for the bank on serving small business owners to help them succeed.  We've been aggressively doing more lending, adding Business Bankers, expanding support staff and steadily enhancing our products and capabilities so that Bank of the West becomes the #1 choice for small business owners."

The new checking solutions reflect the diverse needs of today's small business owners – from a basic account that provides daily banking convenience and easy ways to avoid fees, to others that include tailored services to help manage cash flow.  The new products feature "Choice Business Checking" that offers an unlimited transaction allowance, combining balances at the bank to avoid fees, and fee rebates for customers who use payroll, merchant services, business credit cards or Electronic Deposit Service to deposit checks electronically.

"This benefit package makes it even more worthwhile and economical to take advantage of services that businesses need to handle day-to-day finances and manage cash flow," said Di Gangi.

In addition, the Bank announced a new set of money-saving bundled cash management services to provide enhanced online account access, electronic payments and increased protection against online and check fraud - Fraud Protect, Deposit Plus and Fraud Protect Plus.  Depending on the owner's specific needs, clients can choose bundles that offer secure web-based domestic and international wire transfers, advanced online account monitoring and controls, and proactive notification of potential fraud.
