Bank of the West Promotes Ben Stuart to Head of Growth & Transformation and Chief Marketing Officer

Further expands Growth & Transformation Team with Appointment of Melissa Fifield as Head of Corporate Social Responsibility
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (September 24, 2020) - Bank of the West, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas, today announced the continued expansion of its Growth & Transformation Team. Established to deliver a differentiated customer and employee experience, Growth & Transformation is a bank-wide integrated team focused on financing positive change.
Ben Stuart, who has been with Bank of the West since 2017 as Chief Marketing Officer, has expanded responsibilities with his promotion to CMO & Head of Growth & Transformation. In this newly established role, he will continue to oversee marketing and corporate communications, as well as corporate social responsibility (CSR), customer experience, and digital channels. In his tenure at Bank of the West, Stuart has played a pivotal role in sustainability projects including the first-of-its-kind 1% for the Planet checking account, and has worked with leading environmental organizations including Protect Our Winters and The Conservation Alliance.

In addition to Stuart's role, Melissa Fifield has joined the team as the Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, where she will be responsible for leading and reporting on the Bank's sustainability actions and other CSR commitments. She is a global sustainability leader that brings 20 years of experience leading domestic and international program development and execution across social and environmental impact areas. In addition to spending 14 years at Gap Inc. in various sustainability and environmentally focused roles, Fifield also recently served on the board of directors of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition.
