Kenny Loggins Will Perform at Bank of the West Celebrates America

Popular Omaha and Lincoln Bands Will Open the Show
This year’s headline act for Bank of the West Celebrates America is more than alright. Kenny Loggins will take center stage at Bank of the West’s 26th annual free concert and fireworks show on Friday, July 1 in Memorial Park. Favorite country and dance bands from Omaha and Lincoln will open the show.
Bank of the West Celebrates America will feature:
- Kenny Loggins: Two-time Grammy winner known for his hits, “I’m Alright,” “Footloose” and “Danger Zone.”
- Dylan Bloom Band: A Lincoln-based country rock group that has opened for nationally-known artists and has been heard on radio stations across the nation.
- Finest Hour: One of Omaha’s premier cover/dance/party bands featuring former radio personality Nikki Boulay and well-known sax player Matt Wallace with his BroadBand Horns section.
- Food Bank for the Heartland: Bank of the West’s 10-year partnership with Food Bank for the Heartland continues, inviting the community to help wipe out hunger;
- Dodge Street stage location: The stage will again be on the Dodge Street side of Memorial Park with large screens flanking the stage, so concert-goers can easily see performances and text messages and photos to the screens;
- Fireworks Finale: Bank of the West Celebrates America will culminate with an explosive fireworks finale set to music.
“Bank of the West Celebrates America is a favorite summer tradition that has kicked off the area’s Fourth of July festivities for 26 years. We’re excited to present Kenny Loggins and his well-known music that resonates with people of all ages,” said Robert Dalrymple, executive vice president for Bank of the West’s Midwest Division. “We also are pleased to recognize talented area musicians by featuring the Dylan Bloom Band from Lincoln and Omaha-based Finest Hour. We look forward to bringing family and friends together for a fun evening of music and fireworks to kick off this year’s Fourth of July weekend.”
Throughout his more than 40-year music career, Kenny Loggins has earned two Grammys, 12 of his albums have gone platinum and he has had hits on almost all of the Billboard charts. Known as the “King of the Movie Soundtrack,” Loggins has had smash hits in some of Hollywood's favorite movies. He penned and recorded the title track from the classic movie “Footloose,” as well as the songs “Danger Zone” from “Top Gun” and “I’m Alright” from “Caddyshack.” Loggins has rocked worldwide stages with his indelible hits and found his way into children's hearts with tunes like “House at Pooh Corner,” all while bringing his soulful voice to platinum albums in a stunning variety of genres.
Dylan Bloom Band
Dylan Bloom Band is a country rock group whose heartland-themed songs are sweeping across the Midwest. Based in Lincoln, the band has opened for nationally-known artists such as the Eli Young Band, received national radio play of their song “Turn The Radio Up.” The band also was nominated for Best Country Act from the Omaha Entertainment & Arts Awards. The Dylan Bloom Band draws large crowds with their energetic shows, memorable lyrics and anthems that immediately connect with audiences.
Based in Omaha, Finest Hour delights audiences throughout the region with their high-energy, crowd-pleasing covers of favorite hit songs. Among the talented performers who make up the band’s current members are former radio personality Nikki Boulay as the lead vocalist and popular sax player Matt Wallace who leads a powerhouse of a horn section called the "BroadBand Horns.”
Food Bank for the Heartland Partnership
Bank of the West is proud to partner with Food Bank for the Heartland for the 10th year. The Food Bank has been feeding the hungry in our community for more than 30 years. Concert-goers are encouraged to purchase commemorative Bank of the West Celebrates America plush bears for $5 or make a cash donation at the concert to support the Food Bank. Every dollar collected is donated to the Food Bank. One dollar provides three meals to those in need. Concert attendees could collectively provide thousands of dollars to help feed those in our community who might otherwise go hungry.
Bank of the West Celebrates America will begin with the National Anthem at 6 p.m. The show opens with Finest Hour, then the Dylan Bloom Band followed by Kenny Loggins. The evening concludes with a spectacular fireworks finale at 10 p.m. More than 60,000 people are expected to attend this year’s Bank of the West Celebrates America.
