Capture the Change — Winning Photos

This year’s Capture the Change contest has concluded with four amazing images and respective winners who will soon join us at Ohana Festival and Ohana Encore! The many images that were entered this year remind us of how much our community cares about the environment and its current fight against climate change. The following images are the winning photographs that have captured the change for 2021.

The Lineup

California Dreams Come True

Ohana Festival was once a dream. As any festival, it all started with a vision, and in this case, a special location. When founding member and Ohana headliner, Eddie Vedder suggested Doheney State Beach was the spot — with a key focus on conservation and protecting our oceans — the festival soon became a reality. Since then, when Ohana sets the stage, this location is where the costal beauty of Southern California meets the social warmth of a music-loving people that care for their environment. It’s a unique, world-class music festival with a greater purpose in mind.

Legacy and Environmental Actions

From its early inception, Ohana Festival has committed to being a sustainable music festival that brings awareness to current environmental issues that impact our coastlines and planet. The festival continues to promote its BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) water stations that encourages all attendees to use their own reusable bottles at the numerous refill stations located on site. The festival also strives to reduce its overall carbon footprint annually by diverting waste from landfills with more compostable materials available as alternatives and offering recycling bins throughout the event. One of many reasons that we’re proud to be part of this year’s festival
